Singa Ambara Raja Statue
The “Singa Ambara Raja” (Winged Lion) is the symbol of Buleleng Regency. The statue of Singa Ambara Raja is erected at the middle of the T-Junction at the front of the office of Local Government of Buleleng.

The statue is built on a foundation in the shape of a pentagon symbolizing five principles of Indonesia State Philosophy, called “Pancasila”, namely.

1. The Principle of Belief the one and only God.

2. The Principle of Just and Civilized Humanity.

3. The Principle of Unity of Indonesian.

4. The Principle of Sovereignty of the people led by the Inner Wisdom of Deliberation among Representatives.

5. The Principle of Social Justice for the whole of the people of Indonesia.

The Winged Lion has two wings consists of 17 long feather symbolizing the date of 17th, the date of the Independence Proclamation of the Republic of Indonesia, August 17, 1945.

The lion is holding a kind of corn, in Balinese called “Jagung Gembal” and consists of 8 leaves symbolizing the month of August 17, 1945.

The corn consists of 45 grains symbolizing the year 1945, Augusts 17, 1945.

The motto “Singa Ambara Raja” representing the heroic spirit of Buleleng people.

The winged lion statue is supported by 9 petals of waterlily symbolizing 9 districts (Kecamatan) in Buleleng.

Three elephant fish symbolizing strength, wisdom and the ability of the Buleleng people. Three bright jewels symbolize alertness and preparedness to face all of contingencies. The total number of long and short feathers of the wings are 30 symbolizing the date 30th, the date of the establishment of Singaraja, the capital of Buleleng. Three bones holding the feathers symbolize the month of the establishment of Singaraja. The soft feather which covers the body of the lion totaled 1604, symbolizing the year of the establishment of Singaraja. All of them combined representing the day, month and year of the birth of Singaraja, March 30, 1604. This statue has become a popular landmark of North Bali, Buleleng Regency.
